Location ... Ohakune is a traditional farm service town that has developed in 2 parts. The old area of shops, banks, supermarket etc (the practical end of town) and 2 kilometres up the road towards Turoa and just before the start of the mountain road is 'The Junction' which has ski & board shops, accommodation, bars & restaurants, etc. This is the fun end of town! The area most people want to stay so they can go out, have fun, drink etc but not drive. Ideally situated, the Sunbeam is on the main road right on the edge of the Junction, 2 minutes walk to the 'action' - but not close enough to be disturbed by any noise! To find us just take the road to Turoa resort. We're on the right just before you get to the start of the mountain road.
